WPP MISSION TO PERFORM SURGERIES ON TEN CHILDREN IN SVG

1 Min Read

Ten children here are scheduled to benefit from medical interventions provided by the World Pediatric Project (WPP) which is currently hosting its first Laparoscopic Mission to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Mission led by Dr. David Lammin, will be here from September 18 to 22.

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed far from their location through small incisions elsewhere in the body, with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments.

WPP Director for the Eastern Caribbean – Jacqueline Brown King says the Laparoscopic Mission will perform surgeries on the children from Monday September 19 to Wednesday September 21.

In a recent interview with WEFM News, Mrs. Brown King expressed hope that Laparoscopy can be included among the various World Pediatric Project Missions that visit this country annually.

Mrs. Brown King says two more missions from the WPP (Urology and Orthopedic) are scheduled to visit this country later this year.
