Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves speaking on Star Fm on Friday morning about the current Judgment against Nice Radio and owner Douglas De Freitas, said the judgement handed down by the courts has nothing to do with DeFreitas home.

“I hear people say you want to take Dougie house, well Dougie house is not part of BDS, eh, BDS is a separate company, Dougie house is Dougie house”.

“So they are trying to whip up sympathy in all sorts of things, well I just urge them to be careful and not be reckless”.

Speaking to host Anthony Dennie of the Morning Scoop program, Gonsalves had this to say about the case;  “All I want is the fruits of the Judgement”.

Gonsalves further stated;  “So if next week when the case call about the bankruptcy proceedings they say they have the money, that is fine, that would be music to my ear”.

Gonsalves said he is urging all NDP supporters to contribute and to participate well so he can have his money.

De Freitas on Monday said he was “ tired and worn out” after being face with another defamation lawsuit of EC$225,000.

The ruling stems from a defamation case Gonsalves brought against BDS and Douglas in 2007.

The station has been saddled with a number of lawsuits over the years for defamatory statements made by talk show hosts, who could not verify the information disseminated when hauled before the court.

Gonsalves also spoke about defamatory statements attributed to his wife and son during the interview on Friday 23rd June 2017. Listen Below.
