New information reveals that Lawrence John who lived in SVG before migrating to Canada, was born in Antigua.
Toronto Police are searching for three suspects after the 28-year-old Antiguan national was fatally shot inside his vehicle at North York early Tuesday morning.
Detectives say that John came to Canada from St. Vincent and the Grenadines about one year ago, this was confirmed to us by his mother Arlene Simmons, who spoke with News784 today.
Simmons who is living in Antigua told News784 that she is lost for words, and feels really bad about death of her son.
” I took him to SVG when he was one year and six months, i live there for three years then came back to Antigua, i left him there with his grandmother, he was a good son, he is the father of two a girl and a boy”.
Police in North York, Toronto confirmed that three suspects approached and opened fire on John who was seated in his vehicle
” I still cannot believe he is gone” , Simmons told News784, she further noted that they communicated daily and he never indicated to her that he was in any sort of trouble.
” I talk to him every day, he will video call me and ask mom u working today, if I say yes he will say enjoy your day love u mom”.
A woman was also reportedly inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
Paramedics were called to the shooting, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Wednesday 19th December 2018.
