LOW-COST carrier JetBlue will launch a “Red Eye” trip from New York today, Tourism Trinidad Ltd said yesterday as part of an expansion in airlift from the US.
Tourism Trinidad said yesterday that JetBlue’s late-night Friday flights will continue until the first week of September.
According to Tourism Trinidad, JetBlue and American Airlines “will now fly into Trinidad twice daily, providing an additional 2,738 seats per week to the North American market.”
From August 15 through September 5, American Airlines will operate an additional service from Miami.
JetBlue is a significant American low-cost airline that ranks seventh in North America in terms of passenger traffic. The airline is based in New York City and conducts more than 1,000 flights every day.
In terms of scheduled passengers transported, American Airlines is one of the world’s largest carriers.
American Airlines now operates one daily flight from Miami, with a seat capacity of 172 passengers.
Between January and April, the airline transported 4,211 passengers to Trinidad.
