Vincentians and visitors wishing to travel directly between SVG and Miami now have the luxury of doing so.
American Airlines inaugural flight 1427 to St Vincent arrived at approximately 3.23 pm At the Argyle International Airport on Saturday 15th December 2018.
Onboard for the inaugural flight was Minister of Tourism Ces McKie, who told News784 that SVG has begun to chart its course not only in the aviation arena but in the tourism industry.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony to welcome the first flight to St Vincent on Saturday, Prime Minister Gonsalves said he was happy and overjoyed.
“The People of SVG, the travelers have been waiting on this flight for quite a well, its AA at AIA or Argyle International Airport”.
Gonsalves said they are proud of the partnership and is looking forward to its continued growth.
Brief remarks also came from Alfredo Gonzalez-American Airlines’ Managing Director for the Caribbean .
Other international carriers currently serving the destination include, Caribbean Airlines And Air Canada, Sunwing operates charters on request. .
The airport which was opened in February of 2017 is now into its 22nd month of operation.
