Antigua immigration amnesty to deal with labour shortage
The government of Antigua and Barbuda is introducing a strategic immigration amnesty to address critical labor shortages and support national development.
This policy allows non-nationals who have lost their legal status due to financial hardship to regularize their stay without facing penalties.
By expanding the workforce, officials aim to sustain the country’s current economic momentum and assist employers in high-demand industries.
Additionally, the administration plans to lower the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax to help residents manage the rising cost of living caused by expensive imports.
These dual initiatives are designed to stimulate commercial activity while providing much-needed financial relief to households.
Detailed procedures for both programs will be finalized and released to the public in the near future.
