The execution of a search warrant at the home of a resident at Langley Park in Georgetown has led to the arrest of a Barbadian resident Vagn Johnson on three separate charges for drug possession and one charge for breach of immigration laws here on September 25th, 2017.
Johnson was on Tuesday, September 26th escorted to the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne and pleaded guilty to all charges.
Johnson entered the country legally sometime in 2015 but did not leave at the time he was supposed nor did he check with the Immigration Department to extend his stay and has been in the state up the time of his arrest.
The Court heard that the police had gone to the home of a resident met the defendant on the porch cutting up marijuana. A further search was conducted in the house which led to the discovery of approximately 3,000gms of marijuana in two separate containers.
A penalty of $7,500.00 was imposed upon him to be paid forthwith or face a six months jail term. It was also ordered that Johnson is deported out of the state.
