As part of ongoing enforcement efforts, police arrested and charged Mathew Alexus, a 29-year-old mechanic of Belmont, with the offence of possession of a controlled drug.
Investigations revealed that the accused was found in possession of 29 grams of cocaine with the intent to supply it to another. The offence was committed in Arnos Vale on July 19, 2026.
Alexus appeared before the Serious Offences Court on July 21, 2026, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. He was fined $1,700.00 ECC, payable within one month. In default of payment, he will serve six months’ imprisonment at His Majesty’s Prison. The court also ordered the destruction of the seized cocaine.
