Julia Phillips a resident from the Grenadines Island of Bequia who is employed by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and attached at the Customs and Excise Department at Port Elizabeth, Bequia has been slapped with two theft-related charges by Law Enforcement Officers.
Phillips is accused of depriving the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines of the sum of $43,000.00 between August 14th and September 25th. She was also charged for official corruption.
Phillip was escorted to the Serious Offences Court on Monday, October 1st, 2018 facing the charges that were laid summary before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne to which she pleaded not guilty.
Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche did not object to Phillip’s bail which was allowed in the sum of $60,000.00 with one surety.
She was also ordered to surrender all travel documents to the Court and is to report to the Port Elizabeth Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between 6 am 6 pm.
She is not to leave the state without the express permission of the Court. The trial has been adjourned to December 3rd, 2018.
