Blue Marlins hails learn to swim camp a success

The Blue Marlins Swim Club held its first ever summer learn to swim camp from 13th – 31st July 2026. The 3 week camp was opened to youngsters 3-16 years old. The club management saw it necessary to have such a camp to expose children who would otherwise not be able to make swim training on a regular basis.

Through the swim camp, they would get the much needed exposure and introduction to the sport of swimming in a fun and pressure-free environment. The participants enjoyed other activities alongside swimming, such as arts and craft, fun sports and snorkeling.  The snorkeling was especially well received as the young swimmers got to appreciate the beautiful world under the sea.

Swimming is a life skill that the club would like to see many more Vincentians being equipped with. Each year, for the past 5 years, at least one person has drowned in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Blue Marlins Swim Club is on a mission to get more of SVG swimming, and this swim camp was just the start.

This camp would not have been possible without the assistance of  a few friends of the Blue Marlins Swim Club, namely Agricultural Input Warehouse, Acado Ltd, SVG Pools, Mountain Top Water, Frencille’s Butchering Services, Medix Pharmacy, Audrey Arramsingh and  Joset and Carmaleta Garraway. The club is indeed grateful  for their generosity.

The Coaches and Club Management are also grateful to the parents for entrusting their young ones to the care of Blue Marlins. Learning to swim is a very important skill for Vincentians since the island is surrounded by water and has many rivers. Break the cycle. Enroll in a Blue Marlins Learn to swim class today.
