Authorities in St. Vincent are investigating the discovery of a body in the Block 2000 area, marking the second such find in the country within a short period.
Police confirmed to the St. Vincent Times that the remains, identified as those of a man, were found in a state of decomposition.
At this time, no further information regarding the man’s identity or the circumstances of his death has been made available by officials.
This discovery follows closely on the heels of another tragic find near the historic site of Fort Charlotte.
On Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, authorities located the remains of Selwyn Joseph, a man from Bequia who had been missing since late June.
Joseph had been a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital before his disappearance, which had led the government to issue a public appeal for assistance in finding him.
While his body has been identified, the exact cause and factors leading to his death remain under investigation by law enforcement.
Police continue to conduct formal investigations into both cases to determine the events that led to these tragic outcomes.
