The Bank of SVG National Theatre Arts Festival 2017, was launched on Wednesday 11th October 2017 at the Banks Conference room, Bedford Street Branch.
The festival is being held in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture and the National Theatre Arts Festival Committee.
The launch heard remarks by Drama Development Officer in the Ministry of Culture Mr Martin Quashie, Senior Marketing Officer at BOSVG, Mr Omari France.
Anthony Theobald Cultural Officer brought brief remarks from the Hon Cecil McKie Minister of Culture.
The festival now in its 11th year is a permanent fixture on the national cultural calendar, will begin on 3rd November through the 3rd December 2017.
The theme for the 2017 Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Theatre Arts Festival is “Feel the passion, experience the excitement.”
Over 75,000 dollars have been budgeted to be spent on production work during the festival.
The committee is encouraging the general public to support the shows, thus helping youths to spend their time wisely, aiding in their development.
