Brace for Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Sunday

1 Min Read

A ridge pattern will rebuild across the islands within the next 24 hours allowing for fair to occasionally cloudy conditions with a few passing showers.

By late Saturday, instability associated with an approaching tropical wave should generate cloudy conditions.

This wave should trigger some moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across our islands on Sunday.

All residents are advised to exercise caution and remain updated with the progress of this wave.

Gentle to fresh (15 – 30 km/h) south-easterly to south south-easterly trades are crossing our islands.

Wind direction should change temporarily and become north easterly by Saturday. Strong (~40 km/h) winds are anticipated Sunday. Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells ranging between 1.0m to 1.5m. Swell heights could rise by Saturday.

Marine users should exercise caution. No significant Saharan dust haze intrusion is expected during this forecast period.
