Two drowning incidents took place on the 6th of April here in St Vincent and the Grenadines within hours of each other.
A female French National drowned in Union island this afternoon. Police on the island were able to retrieve her body.
Also this afternoon, a 16-year-old male lost his life in similar circumstances in Mt Young at Black Point.
News 784 understands that the 16-year-old died when he was swept away by a rip current. He was a student of the North Union Secondary school.
The young male was on the beach with his mother and sister at the time of his death. According to eye witness information his sister tried to assist him but was swept back to shore by the tide.
News784 is working on ascertain the names of these individuals.
