As the dreaded Covid -19 or Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the globe, St Vincent will not follow suit in shutting down.
Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves addressing the nation the evening of Wednesday 25th March said the country will remain open.
There has been no local transmission of the virus, however, one person tested positive and is recovering. The Prime Minister announced a number of measures on Wednesday to ease the economic pressure on citizens.
A stimulus package for St Vincent will amount to 74.5 Million, and will come from the IMF, World Bank, UAE,.ECCB, NIS, BOSVG, and other Financial Institutions.
Gonsalves said if in any extreme situation arises the government will act accordingly.
