CONSTRUCTION WORKER CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
One more illegal firearm is off the streets as police arrested and charged Nicholas Charles, a 41-year-old construction worker of Campden Park, with possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
On January 24, 2026, officers apprehended Charles during targeted enforcement operations. Investigations revealed that he was in possession of one nine-millimeter semi-automatic pistol and ten rounds of matching ammunition, both held without a licence issued under the Firearms Act.
Charles appeared before the Serious Offences Court on January 26, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 ECC, subject to strict conditions, including court approval for any travel outside the state, surrender of all travel documents, and restrictions at all ports of entry and exit.
As part of his bail conditions, he is required to report to the Questelles Police Station every Tuesday and Thursday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The matter has been adjourned to March 2, 2026.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force continues focused operations aimed at removing illegal firearms from communities and disrupting criminal activity that threatens public safety. Members of the public are encouraged to remain alert and report suspicious activity to the police.
