- CARIBBEAN AIRLINES PRESENTS: “FLAVOUR AND FLORA”: A CELEBRATION OF CARIBBEAN CUISINE
On Saturday, July 13, Caribbean Airlines will stage its first culinary extravaganza “Flavour and Flora” at the Trinidad Hilton poolside from 6.00 p.m. to midnight. This celebration of Caribbean Cuisine is another element of the airline’s Caribbean Culture agenda which started with Culture in the Park for the Trinidad Carnival, followed by the regional T10 Caribbean Village Cricket Tournament that saw talented teams from across the region vying for the coveted title.
Now, “Flavour and Flora” advances the culture agenda and promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the Caribbean’s rich cuisine through an offering of gourmet meals inspired by the eclectic flavors of the region and prepared by its most renowned chefs. The stellar listing includes Chef Dustin Dalgetty – Guyana, Chef Marvin Applewhaite – Barbados, Chef Belinda Bishop – Grenada, Executive Chef Volae Williams – Jamaica and from Trinidad and Tobago: Executive Chefs Khalid Mohammed, Dominique Beens, Moses Ruben and Chefs Bernard Long, Christopher Ackbarali, Sharaz Mohammed, Isabel Brash and Darius E Campbell.
Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in an array of Caribbean dishes, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and rum cocktails from the tasting menu.
Adding to the evening’s festivities, patrons will be treated to an unplugged performance by international soca star Machel Montano, songbird Leandra Head, and other talented entertainers.
Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines, commented: “This event is much more than about food; it’s a celebration of our Caribbean identity and the flavors that unite us. Every dish tells a story, and every bite embodies the spirit of our region. We believe “Flavour and Flora” encapsulates our passion and commitment for celebrating diversity, cultural richness and the talent within the Caribbean.”
