Caricell today announced the launch of a new mobile service designed specifically for Caribbean communities living in the United States.

Launching on the T-Mobile network, Caricell combines nationwide mobile connectivity, Caribbean calling and an integrated digital wallet that enables customers to manage their mobile service and securely and affordably transfer money to friends and family across the Caribbean, all from a single app.

Built for the more than six million-strong Caribbean diaspora living in the United States, Caricell combines wireless connectivity and financial services into a single platform designed around the needs of Caribbean communities.

Founded by Damian Blackburn, Carl Momplaisir and Régine Desulme Polynice, together with an advisory team whose executive leadership experience spans across the Caribbean and the Americas, Caricell has been created around the unique needs of Caribbean communities whose lives, families and finances span multiple countries.

The business will launch initially in Florida before expanding across key Caribbean diaspora communities throughout the Eastern Seaboard and, over time, the wider United States.

Carl Momplaisir, CEO and Co-Founder of Caricell, said:

“For millions of Caribbean families, staying connected means much more than having a mobile phone. It means keeping in touch with loved ones, supporting family back home and managing life across borders. Caricell has been built specifically around those needs, bringing connectivity and financial services together in a way that no traditional mobile provider currently offers. We’re proud to launch Caricell using the reach and reliability of the T-Mobile network, enabling us to deliver nationwide coverage while focusing on creating products designed specifically for Caribbean communities.”

Caricell plans to launch commercially in Q1 2027.

Commenting on the launch, Chairman and Co-Founder Damian Blackburn said:

“Caricell will take a community-led approach to growth through grassroots marketing – building trusted relationships within the communities we proudly serve. We’ll partner with local retailers and dealers, churches, nonprofit organizations, and cultural events across the United States to create meaningful local connections. Alongside a local-first rewards program supporting local businesses, the Caricell Giving Back Foundation will invest in initiatives that strengthen the communities at the heart of our business.”

Caricell will operate on the T-Mobile network, combining T-Mobile’s nationwide coverage with a mobile experience tailored specifically to the needs of Caribbean communities. Together, the collaboration brings best-in-class connectivity and innovative financial services together in one customer experience.

Dirk Mosa, Senior Vice President, Spectrum, Wholesale, & Roaming, T-Mobile, said:

“At T-Mobile, we’re helping innovative brands turn wireless connectivity into meaningful customer value. Caricell is doing exactly that by pairing reliable connectivity with forward-looking financial services tailored to Caribbean communities. Collaborations like this enable brands to deliver distinctive offerings backed by the reach and strength of the T-Mobile network.”

The business is expected to begin its commercial rollout in Q1 2027, with wider expansion planned throughout 2027 and beyond.
