On September 15, 2023, police arrested and charged William Jones, a 66-year-old cart operator from Kingstown, with theft.
Jones allegedly stole three (3) bags of codfish valued at $27.00 ECC, the property of Coreas Food-Mart. The offense was committed on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Bay Street, Kingstown, at about 4:40 p.m.
On September 18, Jones appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was placed on a bond for one year in the sum of $500.00; in default, the defendant has to pay $500.00 ECC forthwith or two months imprisonment.
