CATHOLIC SOUP KITCHEN RELOCATED

1 Min Read

The Catholic Soup Kitchen in Kingstown that provides meals to the less fortunate on a daily basis has been relocated.

The Soup Kitchen formerly housed at the church’s garage on North River Road is now located at Rose Place next to the New Haven Funeral Home.

Speaking at a ceremony on Friday to mark the opening of the newly relocated facility, Father Andrew Roache said that in its formative years the Soup Kitchen catered for those in need only three times per week, but at present, it caters for about one hundred and twenty persons on a daily basis.

Father Roache said construction works at the new location is expected to cost approximately $160,000.

He said it is expected that this relocation of the Soup Kitchen will allow the Catholic Church to better cater to the needs of a larger number of less fortunate individuals.
