The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) moved one step closer on Monday, March 20th, in seeking international partners to ensure direct air access to this country.
Prime minister Gonsalves told news784 via phone from Qatar that both governments have signed a Civil Aviation Agreement (CAA).
The agreement would allow for civil aviation connection and air transport services between both states in respect of airlines in both jurisdictions.
Gonsalves also told News784 that the Minister of Transportation and the Emir of Qatar have given an undertaking to have the CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker, visit St Vincent.
Gonsalves noted that no date has been set as yet for the visit, however, he says the Qatar officials have indicated that they would fast track the undertaking.
Dr Gonsalves is currently in the Gulf State on official government business.
