The Milton Cato Memorial Hospital will soon be outfitted with new beds and medical equipment worth an estimated CAD $300,000.
Fitzgerald Huggins, St. Vincent’s Consul General in Canada, made the announcement last week on WEFM’s Issue at Hand programme.
Huggins announced that a Canadian hospital is donating 165 beds and mattresses.
Huggins stated that after consulting with individuals in authority at MCMH about what was needed at the hospital, he contacted persons who could help and was able to obtain confirmation of the donation.
Brand new medical monitors and patient lifts are among the resources donated to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Huggins stated that the mattresses supplied to the MCMH had measures to avoid the onset of bed sores.
