Tremors Reported In Northern Communities
(By Ernesto Cooke) – Residents in two North Eastern communities of St Vincent have taken to social media highlighting concerns about tremors being felt in the last two days, with the latest shortly after 6 pm on Wednesday.
On Wednesday evening, Geologist Professor Dr Richard Robertson confirmed changes in seismic activity.
He said due to the changes persons living on the Volcano’s flanks would feel earthquakes.
The residents in Fancy and Sandy Bay have reported tremors on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
One Sandy Bay Resident told News784 that she felt tremors four times in two days.
“My first experience was on Tuesday evening around 6 pm and twice on Wednesday morning sometime after 8 am and another at 10 am,” she told News784.
Several residents of Fancy also told News84 that they felt tremors after midnight on Tuesday night.
Other persons living in the communities who spoke to News784 said they are deeply worried as the La Soufriere is in an effusive state.
NEMO is currently on alert as they would have notice activity on Tuesday evening.
