Chauffeur Charged with Two Counts of Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm
On January 25, 2026, police arrested and charged Augustus Stapleton, a 24-year-old chauffeur of Rose Hall, with two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm.
According to investigations, on October 28, 2025, the accused assaulted a 21-year-old student, a resident of Rose Hall, by squeezing her around the neck with his hands, causing actual bodily harm. He was also charged with assaulting the same complainant on November 13, 2025, by striking her in the face with a pair of jeans pants, causing actual bodily harm.
The offences were committed in Rose Hall.
Stapleton was granted station bail in the sum of $2,000.00 ECC with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Chateaubelair Magistrate Court on January 28, 2026, to answer the charges.
