(Police Press Release) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Rodney Cadougan, a 44 years old chauffeur of Choppins that occurred on 17.02.2021.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was travelling along the Fair Hall to Choppins bypass road when he was approached and shot by gunmen.
Officers from the Calliaqua Police Station were alerted and they visited the scene of the incident. Cadougan was met unresponsive with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his body.
The District Medical Officer (DMO) pronounced the body dead at the scene. The motive surrounding the fatal shooting is unknown at this time. Cadougan’s death marks the fourth (4) homicide for the year 2021.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the body of the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death.
