Kingstown, St. Vincent, May 4, 2016  – Sports and culture were on the receiving end of  donations from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank last week.

The regional bank made a monetary contribution to the North Union Cricket Club, which will host the six-week long T-20 softball cricket tournament at the North Union Playing Field.

More than a dozen teams, mainly from the group’s South Windward community, are expected to be competing in the tournament, which is expected to commence this weekend.

The cheque was presented to Kezron Walters, Chairman of the North Union Cricket Club, by Business Support Officer and Employee Engagement Champion/ Corporate Banking Jacintha Hinds.

Also receiving a donation from the bank last week was the Paragon Model Management group, for the hosting of the “Carnival Couture: Where Fashion Meets Mas” fashion show.

The event, which blended costumes form a number of the country’s carnival mas bands and top local designers, was hailed as a success, and organizers thanked CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank for the financial contribution.

Hinds noted that the donations were in keeping with the bank’s corporate social responsibility, and wished the best for the upcoming cricket competition, while congratulating the costume and clothing designers, models and organizers of the fashion show for a job well done.
