Kingstown, St. Vincent, June 24, 2016 –Our Lady of Guadalupe Home, the institution for abused or at-risk teenage girls, has come in for assistance from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.
The home located at Cane End in the Marriaqua Valley, will this weekend hold its third annual “Poor Man’s Dinner” at the Roman Catholic Pastoral Centre in Edinboro, as a means of raising funds for the non-profit institution, which caters to girls who have suffered from physical, sexual or emotional abuse or who are vulnerable to such abuse.
CIBC FirstCaribbean has pledged its support to this event by making a donation to the home with the purchase of a quantity of tickets for the event.
Jacintha Hinds, Business Support Officer, and Employee Engagement Champion at CIBC FirstCaribbean, said that the bank was happy to support Our Lady of Guadalupe Home by making the donation. She said it was part of the bank’s commitment to reach out to communities and help those in need, in particular women and children.
The contribution was received by Dr. Miriam Sheridan, who thanked CIBC FirstCaribbean for the gesture, which she said will go a long way in helping the home meet some of its financial obligations.
The Poor Man’s Dinner consists of a bowl of soup, a roll, and water.
