Nigel John a Corporal of Police who is attached to the Rapid Response Unit at Port Elizabeth, Bequia came in for high commendation by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne for his vigilance in apprehending 31 years old Kevin Stowe of Bequia on a charge for having in his possession 5 rocks of cocaine on Saturday, September 8th, 2018.

The report is that on the date in question, Corporal John was among a party of Officers who were on routine mobile patrol when Stowe was seen standing in the public road speaking to another male.

Having recognized the presence of the police Stowe is said to have walked away and gone to a vehicle that was parked nearby and started fiddling with the wheel.

This aroused the suspicion of the police who approached him.  The drugs were reportedly discovered in the rim of Stowe’s cap that he was wearing at the time.

Having been arrested and charged for the offence of having in his possession the cocaine, Stowe was escorted to the Serious Offence Court and entered a plea of guilty.

A fine of $400.00 was imposed to be paid forthwith or he faces a two months jail term.
