Cummings Backs Friday For Leadership Of The NDP

Godwin Friday, the current MP for the Northern Grenadines and  is now St Vincent and the Grenadines  new opposition leader taking over from Arnhim Eustace.

Eustace announced to his team this past week that he is prepared to step down both as opposition leader and President of the NDP.

Who will take over as party leader will be decided later this month, but with Friday now having the backing of the MPs in parliament, he now appears to be the favorite to ascend to the party’s leadership as well.

There is talk in some circles that Opposition Lawmaker St Clair Leacock is not so enthused about the party’s choice as leader, with some saying that individuals within the  party may be headed for a showdown when its convention takes place later this month.
