During a recent Ministry of Health press conference, Minister of Health Daniel Cummings publicly commended Chief Medical Officer Dr. Simone Keizer-Beache, describing her as one of the most distinguished Chief Medical Officers in the entire Caribbean.
Addressing the media and public health officials, the Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the Chief Medical Officer, making it clear that he is honored to have Dr. Keizer-Beache serving in this critical leadership capacity. He highlighted her significant competence and wealth of experience, qualities he noted she possesses despite her “relative youth”.
The Minister did not hold back in his praise of the CMO’s work ethic and dedication to public health in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He emphasized to the audience that she brings a level of vigor, passion, and determination to her role that is simply “unsurpassed”.
Beyond his words of praise, the Minister also pointed to CMO’s proactive leadership and concrete initiatives within the ministry. He noted that she is already actively engaged in discussions to introduce specialized training that will assist law enforcement officers and the legal department in better understanding and appropriately handling individuals with mental health illnesses.
Additionally, he acknowledged her collaborative efforts in organizing essential public health events and training with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).
The Minister’s remarks came during a broader briefing focused on introducing the Ministry’s new leadership team, announcing sweeping mental health service reforms, and outlining public health safety measures ahead of the Carnival season.
