Gibron Bailey, SVG Customs Officer, charged with theft
As a consequence of an investigation carried out by the Major Crimes Unit of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Police Force, Gibron Bailey, a 39-year-old Customs Officer of Diamond was arrested and charged on 20.10.2023 with ten counts of Theft.
Bailey is accused of stealing sixty-eight thousand, one hundred and ten dollars and eighty-seven cents ($68,110.87ECC) in cash and cheques to the value of seventy-five thousand, one hundred and eighty-two dollars and eight cents ($75,182.08ECC) between 30.08.2023 and 21.09.2023. The property of the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Bailey appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Monday, October 23, 2023, where he pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of seventy thousand dollars with one surety. He was ordered to surrender all travel documents and report to the Stubbs Police Station every Monday. The matter was adjourned to the 25.10.23
