Daily Paid Workers To Get Increase In Salaries

Daily Paid workers are in line to get a wage increase by the end of this year.

Foreign Affairs Minister Sir Louis Straker made the announcement at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mt. Wynne/Peters Hope Project.

The Foreign Minister noted that a report from the National Wages Council for an increase in wages is currently before Cabinet.

“ This is to increase the average pay for persons who work as daily paid, those who work in stores, hotels among them, this the third such increase the Government”.

Straker said this has come about as Government continues to seek ways to improve the standard of living for Vincentians.

The Council is set up to make recommendations to Cabinet on matters related to minimum wages, hours of work and conditions of employment for various categories of workers in the State.
