Defreitas threatens to pull the plug on radio show

2 Min Read

The proprietor of Nice Radio Douglas Defreitas has threatened to pull the plug on a Saturday Morning show hosted by Carlyle Douglas.

Defreitas made the disclosure after hearing a caller by the name of “ Shadow” from the Central Leeward Constituency making a contribution to the program which in his view cannot be substantiated.

Calling into the program Defreitas said, he has been dealing with legal issues for the last 12 years on the radio, and it’s all because of people not paying attention to the caller’s contributions.

“ I remember calling Lynch, referring to the late NDP talk show host, and I said lynch you are going down the wrong road, he did not listen and then I ended going down a road where my business and my life had to be making sacrifices for other people not for me, because they are saying things they cannot prove”.

“ If you have proof I don’t have a problem with you saying it, but you cannot be doing that to me because what I will do is cut the programs and done with that you know”.

Defreitas told the radio host he has spoken to this matter over and over,  and have also spoken to the caller “ Shadow” about the terrible things he has been saying that he cannot prove”.

“ And if we are going to continue in this way, I am going to stop the program, because it does not many any sense to me”.

why do you want to put me in trouble? Why do you want to destroy my life? Defreitas asked.

Defreitas said he has spoken about Ralph Gonsalves for a number of years, but he has been careful about what he says because his intention is not to say things about people that is not true.
