The cost for dialysis treatment in the southern Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines will be reduced effective Wednesday 12th August.
This announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves while speaking on NBC radio on Wednesday morning.
Gonsalves stated that the price will be reduced from the current rate of $ 250.00 to $150.00.
In medicine, dialysis is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally. This is referred to as renal replacement therapy.
