- Digicel appoints new Regional General Manager
Meredith Sharples became Digicel Group’s Regional General Manager on March 1, 2024. Sharples is excited to manage Digicel Grenada and provide strategic direction for Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Sharples joined Digicel from Cambridge Management Consulting, where he managed the telecoms practice, with over 20 years of experience. His experience includes leading radical change efforts, infrastructure development, and worldwide mergers and acquisitions.
Sharples led the Vodafone Group’s first triple-play offering and fixed network expansion before joining Cambridge Management Consulting. As UK Managing Director of Post Office Telecoms, Sharples oversaw revenue growth of over £150 million through corporate restructuring and customer-centricity.
Digicel Group Cluster CEO West Indies Region Roeland Van Der Hoeven said, “We are delighted to welcome Meredith to our team. His expertise bodes well for Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Dominica.”
Van Der Hoeven also thanked Oscar Arellano for his interim leadership as Digicel Grenada CEO during the transition. Sharples is excited about his new Digicel employment and plans to move to Grenada with his family. He wants to use his skills to boost regional economy and innovation.
