Richland Park SDA Tops SVG’s 2026 CPEA

Draádon A. Ackie, a student from Richland Park SDA Primary School, has emerged as the top overall performer in St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ 2026 Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA). According to preliminary results released by the Ministry of Education on Friday, June 19, Ackie achieved the nation’s highest overall average score of 98.2%. Ackie is notably also the previous winner of the 2025 Ministry of Education/Hachette Learning National Math Competition.

The 2026 results reflect a modest improvement in overall national academic performance. This year, 88.47% of students met the prescribed standard, representing an increase from the 87.34% pass rate recorded in 2025. To meet the standard, students were required to attain at least 50% of the 500 available marks.

Enrollment and Assessment Breakdown A total of 1,766 Grade Six students registered for the 2026 exams, with 1,760 officially sitting for the final assessments. Of those candidates, 1,557 students successfully achieved the required standard, comprising 825 females and 732 males.

The Ministry of Education detailed that final scores were calculated using a two-part system:

  • School-Based Assessment (40%): This component evaluated students on continuous classroom-based work, including projects, book reports, and writing portfolios.
  • External Assessment (60%): This consisted of formal multiple-choice examinations across four core subjects: Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies.
