UPDATE: Fancy : Another Earthquake Felt At 10.40 AM
(NEWS784) – Residents in the North-Eastern community of Fancy is reporting earthquakes on Monday morning.
Recently, geologist Professor Dr Richard Robertson confirmed changes in seismic activity at La Soufriere following earthquakes felt by residents living on the Volcano’s flanks. The movement had stopped, NEMO said in a report.
On Monday morning, Fancy residents told News784 that up to six earthquakes were felt starting around 9 am.
” We felt them around 9 am, the shaking was two to three minutes apart, the last one was little after 10 am,” the Fancy resident told News784.
Another resident reported an earthquake around 10.25 to News784.
In a report on the 29th March, NEMO said. Activity at the La Soufrière Volcano continues to be at a low level dominated by small earthquakes associated with the growth of the lava dome.
The alert level remains at Orange. The National Emergency Management Organisation is reminding the public that no evacuation order or notice has been issued.
The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) also encourages residents, especially persons living in communities close to the Volcano, to be prepared if it becomes necessary to evacuate at short notice.
