Some $65 Million USD will be expended on the Black Sands Resort at Mt Wynne/ Peters Hope, in the Central Leeward Constituency.
Some 40 villas according to the latest update on the project will be completed in the third quarter of 2019.
The resort’s total completion is expected to be by the fourth quarter of 2020.
Prime Minister Gonsalves on Tuesday said $50 Million for construction of a hotel by the government, has been secured from Taiwan.
“That hotel,” says Gonsalves, “would be built in the Mt Wynne/ Peters Hope area, and physical works to begin in the first quester of 2019.”
Gonsalves said combined hotel development will amount to $115 Million USD or EC 310 Million.
“All this development is taking place in a short space of time in a narrow geographical belt”, Gonsalves said.
The Prime Minister indicated that there is also a group of Britsh investors that is currently holding discussions with Invest SVG in relation to hotel development.
