The World Paediatric Project was the beneficiary of a cheque totalling US 50,000 dollars on Friday 13th, January 2017, from the East Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC).
The monetary donation will be used for the missions work on the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Caribbean region.
Mr Osmond Davy Chief Executive Officer of ECGC, speaking at the handing over ceremony, said his company decided to make the contribution after observing the scope of work which the World Paediatric Project has been doing throughout OECS.
In expressing appreciation to the ECGC for its substantial gift, Simon Carey, WPP’s Chief Development Officer called on businesses locally and in the OECS to come forward and contribute to the WPP.
WPP has been working in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for over a decade, during which time it has provided medical care to some 3,645 children, and spent over 34 million dollars carrying out surgeries on children from St Vincent other OECS nations.
The World Pediatric Project (WPP), said that it will be hosting an extensive program of work in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for 2017.
