Exporting for exporting sake wont work says Eustace

1 Min Read

“While the Argyle airport is there and it opens up the opportunity for further export, you have to be competitive in those exports, and not just exporting for exporting sake”.

This is according to the former president of the New Democratic Party the Hon. Arnhim Eustace, while a guest on the New Times program.

Eustace made reference to a ULP spokesman in Parliament who he said over simplified the process of exporting, noting that the way it was presented was misleading.

He said for us to be successful in exporting, our products must be competitive enough to come up with others on the international market, where there would be a lot of competition.

The East Kingstown MP further cautioned that not because there is now an international airport means that international buyers will purchase the product, “it must be competitive.”
