Four of the biggest apps are down as thousands of users have been reporting issues this afternoon.
Meta-owned Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have all left people experiencing issues, while the Google app is also reportedly down. DownDetector shows more than 150,000 users have had trouble getting onto Facebook in the past hour, while there have also been 25,000 reports of issues with Instagram.
The outage has also hit adjoining Facebook Messenger with more than 6,000 complaints. Problems began when users noticed they were being kicked out of their accounts when trying to use the apps and were unable to log back in, while the Instagram feed is currently coming up blank for many.
According to DownDetector, users have also been noticing glitches with WhatsApp, with more than 300 complaints, as well as Google with 219 in the past hour. It’s not known whether the glitches on the Meta-owned apps are connected.
