First World Pediatric Project Medical Mission Arrive This Weekend

IMG_8016The first of nine medical missions to visit St Vincent and the Grenadines, compliments the World Pediatric Project (WPP) will be here next week, offering free medical services to local children and some from around the region.

The general surgery team, which consists of two doctors (Dr Jeffery Lukish, Dr Tae Kim) and two nurses (Marybeth Pule, Sheree Dyer), arrive here on Saturday January 9.

They begin assessments the following day, with procedures to take place up until January 14, and will be ably assisted by local medical practitioners.

35 children with issues relating to umbilical hernias, circumcisions, repairs to spleens and pancreas, Hirschsprung disease, among other cases, will be treated by the specialists while here.

The WPP has been offering free medical services to critically ill children here for over a decade, with some cases being referred to the Virginia and Missouri in the United States, free of cost.
