- Five people survive crash landing in Cat Cay, Bimini
Police on Bimini and the Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) are looking into the circumstances surrounding an aircraft crash landing on Cat Cay around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024.
According to initial reports, a white 1970 Aztec six (6) seater aircraft piloted by an adult male and carrying four passengers took off from Grand Bahama on its way to Cat Cay.
It is alleged that upon arrival at the location, the pilot encountered mechanical issues with the landing gears, resulting in a crash landing on the runway.
There were no reported injuries from the incident. Investigations are underway.
