A flash-flood watch is in effect for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines valid from 6:00pm Sunday 17th to 6:00am Monday, 18th December, 2023.
Flash Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favourable (i.e.) heavy rainfall in a short period of time could lead to the possibility of flooding during the watch period.
Rainfall accumulations of 25mm-50mm in pockets of moderate to heavy showers especially in mountainous areas overnight are anticipated as favourable mid-upper levels continue to enhance low-level instability. Therefore, the weather advisory that has been in effect for low risk of flooding has been upgraded to a flash-flood watch.
Residents and motorist in areas prone to flash- flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be prepared.
