Gonsalves with security detail

Former St Vincent Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves states that his current security arrangements are a result of a cabinet decision made early in the ULP administration’s tenure, however, on Monday Minister of National Security St Clair Leacock said the security details arrangements is under review.

While Leacock spoke to the security of Opposition leader, Gonsalves was making the case for former prime ministers.

Leacock said that the six officers will be reduced to two, and if this is not the current case, the police commissioner will have to say why it is not so.

Gonsalves said a committee was set up pretty early in our administration to deal with this; three persons and the NDP leadership know about what had been offered and what had been accepted and what the situation is for both, in the case of Sir James, and also in the case of my brother Arhnim Eustace.
