The St Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Committee of NewYork in a press release said that Veteran Vincentian Cricketer Michael Findlay would be honoured in the upcoming Diaspora Heritage Awards.

In its statement the committee said, Thaddeus Michael Findlay (Cricket/Soccer), will be among the sporting icons to be inducted into the SVG Diaspora Hall of Fame at the 2017 SVG Diaspora Heritage Awards on September 16, 2017.

Michael Findlay, passionately called “Mikey”, can easily be regarded as one of the greatest Vincentian sporting icons.

His contribution to sports goes well beyond the cricket or soccer field and extends to the field of sports administration and sports journalism.

“Mikey”, along with Peggy Ince Hull (Netball), Mark Cordice (Karate), and Sam DeBique (Posthumously – Cricket) will be the sporting icons inducted into the SVG Diaspora Hall of Fame Heritage Awards on September 16, 2017.
