Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves left the state on Tuesday for an eight-working day trip abroad.
Gonsalves will kick-start the official trip with attendance at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73).
He will also be involved in several meetings apart from the official events at the United Nations UN.
On Thursday 20th September, 2018 Gonsalves will host a luncheon for some 30 ambassadors from GRULAC (Group of Latin America and the Caribbean, Gonsalves said he will use that time to campaign for SVG candidacy as a non-permeant member on the UN security council.
Gonsalves will also be a speaker at the high-level meeting of heads of government on the matter of non-communicable diseases.
Gonsalves has also accepted an invitation from the president of South Africa, to attend an event commemorating the 100 Birthday of Nelson Mandela, Gonsalves will also be a speaker at that event.
The Prime Minister will also meet with several other heads of government who have asked for discussions to be held.
Government Ministers including Camilo Gonsalves and Luke Browne who is on official business overseas will join the PM in New York.
Senator Carlos James will also be at the UN for about two days to interact with staff. The Ministers and senator were not part of the official delegation that left here on Tuesday.
Dr Gonsalves was accompanied by his wife Mrs Eloise Gonsalves.
