Living by his creed, once there is life, there is hope; Philanthropist Deron Grant brings his generosity to bear once again.

Grant made his latest donation to the St. Benedict Day Nursery and Children’s Home in Georgetown, after hearing the institutions plea for help from Sister Nyra Anne Pajotte O.Carm, on Boom FM last week.

Grant’s contribution came in the form of EC 2000.00, along with a Washing machine; his donation would be handed over to the institution by Lawyer Grant Connell.

Speaking with  Sister Nyra Anne Pajotte, she indicated to News784, her joy and greatest appreciation for the timely donation made by Grant, Pajotte cited that the washing machine came at an opportune time since the laundry is being repaired.

She also noted that the storage area a wooden structure had to be torn down, due to an infestation of termites.

Some significant upgrades are currently being done at the facility including a utility hall, with space to house volunteers who come on various occasions.

There are also further expansion to the home which pajotte indicate is already running close to a million dollars and is appealing for more help from the business community.

Originally opened on July 25th, 1963, with a Day Nursery and an Infant Hospital on February 13th, 1968, the Institution has provided countless benefits to the Vincentian community in its more than fifty (50) years of service.

St. Benedict administers an enhanced quality of life to St. Vincent’s most vulnerable and often most neglected citizens: children with no family bond.
