Ingram Francis a 56 year old national from Grenada has been busted by members of the Rapid Response Unit for possession of a controlled drug at Union Island on March 9th, 2017.
Reports are that on the date in question the law enforcement officers acted on certain information and proceeded to a beach at Union Island where Francis was met with the marijuana.
Francis was on Monday, March 13th, 2017 escorted to the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne facing the charge of drug possession with intent to supply to another to which he maintained his innocence with legal representation from lawyer Grant Connell.
When the question of bail arose Prosecutor Elgin Richards objected stating that the defendant is a non-national and he will be a flight risk if granted bail.
Connell in response urged the Court to have the Police get the drugs tested speedily. The matter is expected to be heard on April 28th, 2017.
