Guests Stranded As Workers Abandon The Buccament Bay Resort

1 Min Read

Workers at the Buccament Bay Resort walked off the job earlier this afternoon abandoning visitors vacationing there.

This from reports we have received from a number of individuals close to the management of the resort. The electricity at the resort was disconnected today as well, as payment has been long overdue.

The workers at the resort have been up in arms with management over nonpayment of salaries for a number of months.

Dave Ames principal owner of the resort while speaking to the minister of Trade Camilo Gonsalves recently indicated that he would pay workers that have not materialize.

Hotel and property developer Harlequin owners of Buccament Bay Resort on Monday was awarded $11.6m (£7.4m) in damages from top 20 firm Wilkins Kennedy after a High Court ruling.

However,  owners may never get any of that money since debtors are many. Guests are tonight wondering what their next move would be.

Some have already made arrangements for flights out of the island.
